Jake Owen Comes To Town

Happy Day,

It is a rainy day, but that makes for perfect weather to crank up the tunes and rock out to some good old Country music.  Currently, my Itunes genius menu is rotating between Lady Antebellum, Jimmy Wayne, Jerrod Niemann, Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Patty Loveless, and many more to keep my happy mood going.  I would love to hear what you listen to on rainy days?  I am always up to recommendations for music.

The Country music scene has been hotter than ever in the area as Chuck Wicks, Jaron & The Long Road to Love, Jerrod Niemann, and just recently, Jake Owen have treated NEPA to free shows through Froggy 101.  Thank you Froggy for all these great shows and recognizing there is a strong Country fan base in your home area.  All these shows have been fantastic and if you have yet to catch one I highly recommend catching the next one.

Jake Owen, otherwise known as “Yee Haw” man, and his band were one of the fantastic performances presented by Froggy 101 last Tuesday, September 21.  Bo Brothers at PNC Field was a perfect location to host the show.  Great food, great prices, and the room are perfect for the one on one concert setting.   Owen packed the room and had patrons singing and laughing along as he performed his hits, told some stories, and introduced fans to newer songs, which will be featured on his next album.

Owen opened up the show with his heart connecting soulful song “Tell Me.”  That song was a perfect show opener as it got the ball rolling on revving the crowd up to sing along.  Owen listened to the crowd as he asked for requests as to what songs we wanted to hear most.  My friends and I managed to get his attention and request the hit that started it all “Yee Haw.”  “Yee Haw,” is one of those songs that you always sing to just as Owen states “You take your all-right; you take your can’t-wait.  A lotta of bring-it-on an’ some damn straight.  An’ mix it all up with some down home southern drawl, y’all:  You got your yee haw!”  Aside from requests, Owen treated the crowd to new sounds as he played songs that will be featured on an upcoming album.

Keep those ears entertained bloggers.

Musically,

Owen is defintely one of my faves and I dare any true Country music fan not to sing along when they hear one of his tunes- especially the catchy “Yee Haw”. That one gets me all cranked up every time. I was recently at PNC Field myself, but did not get the chance to head inside Bo Brothers. I imagine it is quite the venue for a more personalized concert experience. Hopefully the next time an artist of that caliber is playing there- possibly as a result of Froggy 101!- I’ll be right there in the mix. Thanks again for keeping us up to date, Chels. Take Care, and keep ’em coming!
